Corks popped and cameras flashed

The 22nd November, 2025 saw the Grand Opening of The Hub, Hua Hin. Henrik Fagersson was beyond proud to officially present his new “baby” to the local community, and an estimated 650 people were present throughout the day’s festivities to welcome The Hub with open arms and to celebrate it with a toast.

Henrik, along with his wife Kathrin, ever a proud and stalwart supporter, conceived the original concept of The Hub around a year ago and giving birth to The Hub has been a massive undertaking, akin to delivering a baby elephant, to be sure. While the pair were searching for a top-quality secondary education for their daughters, then approaching their teens, at an affordable price, the seminal idea for The Hub took root.

Henrik is not one to think small. Once a co-study venue was on the drawing board, Henrik found that the project quickly seemed to develop a life of its own. Within a relatively short time he had settled on a venue and was collaborating and consulting with others, determined to create something unique but of benefit to the entire local community.
Locating The Hub within the TRex precinct at Hin Lek Fai turned out to be a master stroke, as there was already an underutilized building on site that would be the perfect home for the project. Henrik partnered with the owners, Pisit and Achanee Rodjanamongkol, as well as their daughter DD, in the design and renovation of the building, to make it perfectly match Henrik’s dream. Henrik will forever be grateful for their support of his vision.

Months of intensive planning and hard daily grind followed. Henrik was required on site more and more and Kathrin picked up the slack and took the reins at Spine Clinic as Henrik had meetings, followed up with contractors and suppliers, dealt with promotion and was at all times in control of every detailed facet of the gestational process of The Hub. As manager, Henrik found that progress was not always linear and things not always smooth, yet he always had encouragement and support from his parents, Bengt and Christina.
Once the building redesign and renovation project and the carpark were well under way, attention turned to the fitout of the interior and external signage as well as the use of billboards and local media to inform the community of just what was happening adjacent to the well-established sporting complex, TRex. Looking to ensure both comfort and usability for all site users, whether adults in the Co-working zone or children in the Co-working junior wing, Henrik resolved to use state-of-the-art internet connectivity and site management software as well as ergonomic furniture. Katherin’s practiced eye made sure the layout, colour scheme and interior décor were relaxing and visually pleasing at the same time.

The search for staff was also an energy-consuming task for Henrik, who was determined that a high-quality facility demanded the very best staff, in both administrative and educational spheres. Now, some months from the project’s birth, the soft opening in September, 2025, Henrik is convinced he couldn’t have chosen a better team. Titima deals with reception and the needs of the business and co-work clients with professionalism and courtesy, while Anu, Yuiki and Ingrid are doing a sterling job with the juniors. The team at The Hub are carefully nurturing Henrik’s dream and it is thriving.
Saturday 22nd November, 2025 was the Grand Opening and the official opportunity for the project’s completion to be celebrated by all those involved as well as by the local community. The morning began with a blessing ceremony presided by seven monks. A small group of family and invited friends and site-users joined with the monks in offering prayers for the success of The Hub and health and happiness for all who attend. The afternoon program commenced with the formalities, including the cutting of the ribbon and Henrik’s welcome address before the focus turned to performances from local music and sporting groups as well as the co-work juniors. The food and drink festival kicked off, with local vendors offering delicious dishes and a wide variety of beverages. Patrons partied into the evening, the stage taken over by an amazing singer and a DJ who kept the crowd pumping.

And so ends Phase 1. The Hub Hua Hin has stopped being a dream, a vision and is now fully operational. Saturday 22nd November wasn’t just an opening. In Henrik’s words, it was the start of a community. May it long thrive, flourish, grow and flower!
