The Hub, Hua Hin – May Update
With only three months left before The Hub opens its doors for both Co-work and Co-study at the beginning of September, Henrik and Sjoerd are very busy, but on the other hand, completely satisfied that everything is moving forward at the appropriate pace. The continuing Open House sessions from 5pm each Wednesday evening have been well-attended, and there are other interested individuals popping by, on a daily basis to have a word with the founders. A heads-up to anyone who might consider an impromptu visit – you are most likely to find Henrik and Sjoerd on-site and able to field your enquiry on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Building works are progressing well. With all electric and ethernet work complete, the ceilings are being closed up, and the floor tiles are being installed. The reception desk and other furniture have arrived and Henrik will be putting his Allen key to good use to assemble it. A proud Swede indeed. Work has now also commenced on the parking lot adjacent to the grassed area, with over 40 additional parking spaces on the plan, ensuring easy drop-off and pick-up for parents.
Many parents of potential Co-study participants have had questions about the daily schedule, and so Henrik and Sjoerd have been prioritising The Hub Hua Hin app which is now available at both the Apple Store and Play Store for those using Android devices. Parents will also welcome the convenience of being able to make easy payments via the app. A limited number of just 13 places are now available for the September Co-study intake, with seven learners from lower secondary (junior high in the US) to final year now registered. In addition to the Student Activity Supervisor who was employed last month, the service of a Student Activity Assistant has now been secured. She has only just finished her final GSCE exams, using the Wolsey Hall curriculum, so will be perfectly placed to advise and mentor students using this British curriculum.
Another convenience for all Hub members will be the daily, delivered lunches which will be proudly provided by Hua Hin’s favourite, Daddy Deli, from a purpose-curated menu, to deliver proper nutrition to the entire Hub.
Exciting progress is happening in the Co-working zone as well. The Hub’s innovative design and features will make work a breeze for its members. Booking is now open for monthly work-spaces via the app, with participants able to reserve one of four personal offices of 20m2 or even the single Work Hub, a private suite of a spacious 50m2 in addition to a more standard work desk in the co-working space. Whatever is chosen, there will be access to three “focus nodes” which will provide security and privacy when making or taking phone calls. All details of pricing are available on the app.
The Hub is an innovative and unique project in Hua Hin. Henrik finds that educators from around the world are expressing interest in participating in this new challenge, which is going to change the face of obtaining a recognised international education in Hua Hin, while providing exceptional co-work facilities at very competitive prices.
